That’s why, within our hybrid model, we have a team ‘around the corner’ that communicates in Dutch and follows a local approach, working closely with the client to develop a primary concept and a suitable, reliable solution. The detailed execution is then carried out by our own team of specialists abroad, where capacity is not a limiting factor.

That’s why we established a R&D Connect Team , consisting of Dutch senior experts who provide essential face-to-face interaction to fully understand all technical details, project requirements, and deliverables.

Our remote team members support tasks such as design detailing, preparation, documentation, and technical analysis, which require less physical presence and intensive coordination.
Upon completion, they hand over the work to the R&D Connect Team for thorough review and approval. This process ensures that all deliverables meet the high standards expected in engineering projects.

Smart Way Engineering is a spin-out of IM-Aces, which is an organisation that for more than a decade now, successfully deploys pre-retired and retired people on a part time basis for technical assignments. Even in retirement, highly skilled technical professionals can still offer immense value due to their deep knowledge, extensive experience and boundless passion. Their expertise, built over 30 years in the field, remains a critical asset that can support innovation, problem-solving, and knowledge transfer within organizations.
By mentoring younger colleagues and offering strategic insights, these seasoned experts play an essential role in bridging skill gaps and fostering the development of future talent, ensuring that valuable industry knowledge is preserved and passed on.
